Suggestions for Your Fundraiser Event
Lots of ideas come to mind when conducting your
fundraiser with PetsAreStars.com
The most successful venues appear to come in 2
forms:
-- On site shelter adoption counters
-- Targeted Fundraiser Events, such as silent auctions,
and annual fundraiser events. These events can be staffed by a
volunteers, a youth group, a school group, an adult volunteer group, etc.
Types of Images
Your next thought should go to the types of images
you would like printed on the cards.
Would you like artwork? If so, by whom?
Would you like to feature children's artwork? Would you like to feature professional paintings? Would you like to feature photography?
Or a mixture of all these media?
By deciding the types of media of the images
submitted for print, you will be able to focus on acquiring and selecting
the images you wish to use. Remember that you are able to upload/ send to
us up to 4 images for each order.
If you are using original children's artwork, for
example, considering holding an art contest. And
have a panel select 4 pieces of art. Or use all the artwork
submitted, and just place several orders.
If you wish to use original professional artwork,
consider inviting artists in your congregation to contact you.
Remind them that you are limited to the number you can accept for the
project, so they will need to contact you as soon as possible.
If you wish to use photography, no doubt your
facility owns a variety of professionally produced photographs. Keep
in mind that you may select up to 4 pieces, but even if you use just 1
nice photograph, your cards will be a hit!
A note about Text:
We encourage you to use text on the back of your card. Please try to
limit text to approximately 150 words. We are flexible on this
point, however, and will contact you if we run into issues in production
prior to printing your order.
Yes, we will accept text in an email format if you
wish to use 4 images in your order. There is no additional charge
for adding text on an order using the maximum number of images allowed.
Getting the Images and Text to Us
After selecting your images, this is the most important step. There are
several ways to make this happen.
Images
Important Note Regarding Resolution of
Digital Images:
Know that the higher the resolution of your
digital images, the better your cards will look. So, if at all
possible, upload and/or email us your your highest resolution available.
(When we digitally scan photos and artwork send to us at our production
facility, we capture the image at very high resolutions to produce as high
a quality printed image as possible.)
1. Upload your digital images online on the
order webpage.
If you have digital images on your computer (photographs, scanned images,
texts, etc.) you can upload the images from the order page. Order
Page instructions and guidelines are on the "Order" webpage to guide you
through the steps of ordering online.

2. Attach your digital images in an email.
If you have any difficulty uploading your images on the order site, you
may send an email to the production department and attach your images in
the email:
tech@kidsarestars.com Please identify yourself in the email, and
indicate if you are otherwise ordering and making payment online, or if
you are mail ordering. You may use up to 4 images per order.
3. Postal mail your images to us
If you have hard copies only of your images (photos, artwork , etc.) and
therefore are unable to upload digital images to use, you may send your
images via postal mail (or any other shipping method). We urge you
to use a non-bendable mailing envelope, and use a shipping method that
will allow you to track your package. In your package, please send a
copy of your completed online order (if you ordered online with a credit
card). Or, if you are paying by check or money order, print out the
copy of the order information (as described on the "Order" webpage), with
totals (including shipping), and enclose it with payment and images.

A Note
about Original Artwork
While the focus of this website involves uploading images online, we wish
to share with you that we began our business with one site called
www.KidsAreStars.com, a site
featuring the artwork of children as fundraisers for children's groups and
schools. Therefore, we are accustomed to working with artwork sent
to our offices to be digitally captured and transferred to greeting cards
and stationery. So while you will most likely be uploading
photographs, we want you to keep in mind that we enjoy working with
original artwork as well, and have a great deal of experience in creating
products with original art.
We don't want you to hesitate to send us original art, either produced by
you or children in your family! As a matter of fact, you'll find
that you will have a great deal of pride in seeing original images
produced on greeting cards. The impact is strong, gratifying and
even more endearing.
So, while you consider sending photographs to us as your image
submissions, we also urge you to consider sending original artwork as
well. Know that we will use the utmost care when we work with the
artwork. And the artwork is returned in its original condition with
your order.
Here are some brief, simple guidelines if
you wish to create and send original artwork created by yourself or
children in your family or your group:
1. The material you
use can be as simple as 8-1/2 x 11 white printer paper.
2. While crayons are good to
use and readily available, felt colored markers work best in reproduction.
We do not recommend colored pencils, chalk or pastels.
3. If you are
sending several original art pieces by different children or adults,
please turn the page over and write the individual's full name, with any
other information (age, class, group name, etc. for the back of the card)
on the back in the upper left hand corner in pencil.
We recommend that you send the artwork to us in an unbendable envelope
through a mailing or shipping method that will allow you to track your
package. Mail to the address listed below.
When you place your order online, just let us know via email or in the
"Special Instructions" box at checkout that you will be sending artwork to
us. We'll acknowledge your email and watch for your artwork to
arrive.

Text on the Back of the Card
You may send us text to be printed on the back of
each card. You may send the text in the following ways:
1. Upload your text on the order page
You may upload your text at the same time that you place your order online
and upload your images. Simply use one of the 4 upload windows to
browse and upload your text. Text requirements: Your document
must be saved as either a MS Word document, or an Adobe pdf document.
(Uploading will recognize only .doc and .pdf extensions.)
2. Send the text to us in an email
You may send text directly to us in an email. This will allow you to
upload 4 images on the order page, and allow for text to be printed on all
4 card styles. Either contain the text within your email, or attach
your text as a document, and send your email to:

Please provide as much information as possible in your email so that we
can match it with your online order.
3. If postal mail ordering, send the text
with your order and images
Just enclose a copy of the text you would like for the back of the cards
with your postal mail order.

of your card, a default text format will be used. It will appear as

If you do not wish to add custom text, and wish to
make changes to the format above, please include these instructions in
your online order (a box labeled "Special Instructions" can be found on
the checkout page), or send them in an email to us:

example of the text arrangement you wish to be used. (Company logo
and our copyright are required elements on the back-of-card
formats). You may also include any changes to the default format
with your package, if you are mail ordering.

Mail Order
If you do not wish to use a credit card online
and/or wish to send your entire order by mail, simply complete the entire
order process online as described above.
When all relevant information is completed, including the actual shipping
amount, print out the page without entering credit card information or clicking the "Submit Order" button.
Use this printed page as your mail order form. (Be
SURE to click the "Calculate Shipping" button and make your shipping
selection. Orders will not be processed if the shipping amount is
missing.)
